The Village Bank awards $10,000 to enhance Learning Prep technology

The Village Bank has donated $10,000 to the Learning Prep School in West Newton to help students and teachers take full advantage of the school’s recently updated computer infrastructure, including new wireless hubs spread throughout the campus.

According to Cynthia DeAngelis, executive director, Learning Prep will use the grant from The Village Bank to purchase iPads, which will expand student and teacher access to specialized instruction that suits the learning style and needs of each individual.

“This is a huge boost for how we can help students learn,” DeAngelis said. “With a solid and predicable tech platform, we can now focus on equipping all of our students with these mobile teaching devices, and The Village Bank’s generous gift is a major step in that direction.”

“Learning Prep does an extraordinary job educating students who have learning challenges,” said Kenneth C. Brennan, president and CEO of The Village Bank. “We are pleased to help the School benefit from the technology that is so critical in today’s learning environment.”

Learning Prep is an innovative educational and therapeutic school for students with significant language and learning challenges. Founded in 1970, the School serves over 270 students, between the ages of 9 and 22.  Small classes at all levels allow for individual attention and instruction.
