Equifax Data Breach Information - UPDATED

PHONE SCAM UPDATE:
Consumers have reported a new phone scam.
Scammers represent themselves as Equifax employees calling to confirm personal information. This is a scam. Equifax will not be making phone calls to people involved in the recent information breach. At The Village Bank, keeping your accounts and personal information secure is one of our most important priorities. As part of our commitment to your security, we wanted to update you on the recent data security breach reported at Equifax, one of the three largest Credit Bureaus in the United States. The breach, which took place between May and July, may have put personal information, including birth dates, social security numbers of as many as 143 million United States consumers at risk.
