The Village Bank is proud to announce we have earned AARP’s award-winning BankSafe Trained seal for the fourth consecutive year in recognition of the training and policies we have in place to better protect older Americans from financial exploitation.
The Bank is one of 191 financial institutions to earn the 2026 seal, which certifies that employees have completed a training program focused on protecting customers from fraud and other financial exploitation. To qualify, organizations must ensure at least 80 percent of their frontline staff complete AARP’s comprehensive BankSafe training annually, alongside actively pursuing policies to address suspected financial exploitation. Eligibility for the seal also requires a positive standing in Better Business Bureau ratings and adherence to specific legal and regulatory standards.
Financial exploitation of customers over 50 years old and their families is a growing and frightening problem in the United States. One of The Village Bank’s top priorities is to protect customers from these serious incidents. To learn more about the BankSafe seal, visit aarp.org/banksafe.
