The Village Bank Board Chair, Thomas R. Keery II, has announced the appointment of Christopher P. Conkey to the Board of Directors.
“We are excited to welcome Chris Conkey to the Board of Directors,” Keery said. “He has a wealth of knowledge and experience, especially in investment management, and we look forward to his contributions to the continued success of our organization.”
Conkey has more than 40 years of experience in building and leading successful global organizations within the institutional investment management industry. Throughout his career, he was responsible for creating and implementing organizational vision and strategy, including global investment philosophy and processes, firm culture, and business development activities.
Conkey spent the last 15 years of his career at Manulife Investment Management (MIM) as the global head of public markets, where he had P&L responsibility for MIM’s public markets institutional business in addition to his leadership of public markets investment teams.
The Newton resident holds a BA from Clark University, an MBA from Boston University, and he earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He currently serves on the board of the Homeless Prevention Council, a non-profit based in Orleans, Mass. Conkey previously served on the boards of Anatolia College in Thessaloniki, Greece, and several Manulife affiliates in the United States, Canada and Europe.
