The Village Bank recently announced Edix (Eddie) Lemus Jr. as the winner of its $5,000 Waltham giveaway. Lemus was presented with a $2,500 check by President and CEO Joseph De Vito at the Bank’s Waltham office. Lemus also chose to donate $2,500 to the Waltham Boys and Girls Club.

“My family and I want to thank The Village Bank,” Lemus said. “The Boys and Girls Club has helped so many people in Waltham and across the country. I’m happy to be able to help them.”

The Waltham Boys and Girls Club is a nonprofit organization and well-known community leader, providing programs for the youth with a special focus on serving disadvantaged youth. Executive Director Erica Young, Engagement Manager Caitlyn Garcia, and Resource Development Officer Erin Donovan were on hand to accept the donation.

“We are incredibly grateful for Mr. Lemus’s gift,” said Young. “We are thankful to him and The Village Bank for helping spread the word about the club and all we do.”

Also on hand for the presentation were The Village Bank’s Chairman of the Board Ken Brennan, Senior Vice President Community Relations Susan Paley, and Assistant Vice President Community Relations Sue Chapman. The giveaway ran from October 16 through December 31, 2023, and promoted the opening of the Bank’s new Waltham office, located at 251 Moody Street.

“We are excited to bring local banking to our customers and friends in Waltham, and are thrilled to celebrate the beginning of this new chapter with the community,” De Vito said. “We are ecstatic for Eddie and our wonderful friends at The Waltham Boys and Girls Club.”
